With the decline in PPC and domain name parking earnings, discussion among domain name portfolio owners always turns to DEVELOPMENT at some point. And, one of the current trends in domain development is the rapid development of mini web sites, or MINI-SITES. A quick Google search for mini site related keywords turns up what seems to be hundreds of web designers and developers touting their mini-site development services. And yeah, NetRico.com has jumped on that bandwagon as well … but with some major differences.

First of all, we don’t use the same old cookie-cutter templates that are showing up on a lot of the mini sites we’ve seen. Every single site we design is unique, with original graphics and one-of-a-kind templates. They look like real website because they ARE real websites.

Secondly, we develop unique written content. No cut and paste jobs here. We research and write our own copy, optimized for the relevant AdSense keywords that have the best balance of search volume and high PPC value.

And, although these are “mini sites” by definition, we really consider them to be “phase one” of the domain development process. We’re always looking to improve each domain we develop by adding more content, additional pages, newsfeeds, blogs, etc. We really don’t like the idea of building out one of these sites, throwing it out there and forgetting it. By continuing the development process, we maximize our SEO efforts as well as the value and profitability of the domains we develop.

Another difference at NetRico is that we always look for monetization options beyond just Google AdSense. Where relevant and possible, we always try to include additional profit generators, typically in the form of affiliate relationships. Graphic Design and Print Layout Case Study - 4SaleByOwnerDR

Our real estate client in the Dominican Republic, 4SaleByOwnerDR, has provided NetRico with the perfect opportunity to showcase several of our services simultaneously.

We began working with this company several months ago, during their start up phase. The first graphic design request 4SaleByOwnerDR made of us was to design a logo, based on their color choices, that conveyed them as a real estate company as well as branding their name in this new market. The logo needed to read well at different sizes, from business cards to bill boards.

Next NetRico designed and produced the company’s other corporate identity collateral, including business cards and For Sale signs, in both English and Spanish. The signs are screen printed on vinyl and are designed to be reusable. We left a blank area near the bottom so that temporary stick on numbers could be used for phone numbers and related contact information.

We then moved on to producing multilingual sales material, including residential rate cards, commercial advertiser rate cards as well as a 2-color die cut folder, all of which serves as the company’s media kit. The rate cards were delivered in PDF format so that the local sales team can print-on-demand from the office laser printer. The media kit’s presentation folder was printed locally in the Dominican Republic and NetRico communicated with the printer as necessary to manage the details, including the custom double-curved die cut.

Originally, 4SaleByOwnerDR intended that the layout and design of their monthly magazine be done locally. However, several such attempts failed to meet the clients expectations. So, after the first edition was finally distributed, the company turned to NetRico for production of the second and all subsequent editions. The most recent magazine is a 36 page, full color publication in both Spanish and English. In addition to the layout and translation requirements, our staff produced the majority of the commercial advertisements, including the front cover. Again, we communicated directly with the DR-based printer to ensure correct and timely production.

We look forward to getting started on the next edition and expect that the related artwork and requirements will be crossing our desk any day now.
